I don't own a Mac or have any real experience with them, but a friend of mine does and asked me to help him find some files missing on his iMac using OS 9.2.
I was hoping that someone might have some advice.
He said that "He clicked the file, moved it fast, and thinks he moved it off the screen"
The first thing I did was look in the trash folder and the missing folder wasn't there.
I then checked the desktop folder to see if he moved it off the visable space, but it wasn't there.
I used the file finding tool and I couldn't locate the files on the system, (Do I need to update the file index, and if so how is that done?).
I tried to use one of his aliases and it sent up the error "120", which I assume means "file not located".
Could he have erased the files bypassing the trash folder?
Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for any help.
