My high school just ordered about 30 of these (below), just for the first floor computer lab! They're working amazing, especially Photoshop (CS3) and they are also much better than the '98 Windows we had which came as no surprise for me. ;D

EDIT: It's funny how they can afford these but can't afford decent cafeteria food.

The new iMac comes in 20" and 24" flavours. Most probably it should be 20".

Cafetarias always suck. But they are cheap and that's a good thing....

Ya I would definately ask if the school can order one for you as well. They probably get a way better discount than our average student discount.

Caf. food up here in Canada are always expansive!!

I get food included and for most part its decent.

Had 'charity lunch' today, which is when they feed you next to nothing in order to raise money for some charity.

God I hate that, Id rather pay £1 and have a decent meal!

Grats on the new comps to play on.

Cafeteria food isn't always bad. My cousins school in Laguna Niguel CA, has Pizza Hut/Starbucks/Carl's Junior/Panda Express/Taco Bell inside of the dang school! It's insane!

Actually not always true. I lived in a pretty affluent area in Atlanta, Georgia and our cafeteria food was as good as a home cooked meal or what you could get at a restaurant. We were a charter public school though, so I guess they had more freedom to serve what they wanted.

I think the 17" is still available for education organizations.

The old one maybe. But the picture he posted is of the new one. They don't make the new one in a 17" size....

To clear up the confusion, it's the 20" 2.0GHz model. the lowest end, but still powerful none the less. Besides, as I said before, it beat the Windows we had before.

My university just got some new iMacs too. I was really shocked to see them. I kinda wish they would spend the money on updating some of the old classrooms which still have chalk boards and high school style desks that are too small to do anything with.

My college has iMacs out the rear. I walked into the IT department and they had an entire room stocked with about 50 of them, just sitting there. The old model though.

Dxmn, those things should be used...what computers are currently being used at your school?
