I have a Macbook with GB8 and an M-Audio Axiom 25. I was wondering how I would go about recording a sample (say an acoustic guitar chord) and then getting it into Garageband and THEN mapping that sample/sound to a key on my Axiom....?? Thanks for any advice...

Well, to record a sample in Garage Band:

You need an audio interface/sound card. Plug whatever instrument you want into that, then connect the sound card to your Mac with a USB cord. Create a new basic track (no effects), hit record, play your sample, stop recording. Save As whatever file type you want, probably .wav.

About then mapping that sample to your MIDI controller, I'm not sure; I don't have one yet. But, I'm sure it's pretty easy - just read your manual.

I don't know if garage band can do this. Logic Express has a sampler though...
