OSX & Onyx maintenance during MB sleep?

Just as the title says, I was wondering if the scheduled maintenance for OS X & my own scheduled Onyx maintenance when my MB is in sleeping mode? I know my MB has to be turned on, but not sure if sleeping mode counts..

With the normal OS X scripts your Mac has to be awake. I'm not an Onyx user so I don't know abouth those

The Cron scripts (built-in maintenance scripts) are done as part of the Onyx maintenance tasks. As Kilted1 said, your machine must be awake to do them. When your computer is in sleep mode, all activity is suspended and your computer only draws enough power to keep the contents of memory alive. No active processing is done, nor is the hard disk spinning.
