helppp!!!!!

i have a really annoying problem

everytime i click on a piece of text, it automatically highlights. it's really annoying!!!!

i don't remember changing any of my prefences and i'm using a trackpad.

any help welcome

Typically a double-click will highlight a string of text. Are you sure that your trackpad button isn't sticking? I would hook up an external mouse and see if the problem persists. Otherwise, you might want to adjust the double-click timing to see if that's the cause (System Preferences => Mouse & Keyboard => Track Pad tab => Double-click Speed).

i think it must be the first as when i use an external mouse or tap the trackpad. thanks!

tried that but i't didn't seem to work.... but i went to an apple store and it had fixed itself! however the shop decided i had discolourment on my macbook so i get a new keyboard part of my laptop for freee
