I belong to a number of other on-line forums, and recently, due to a problem I was experiencing with my Linux setup, I have had to spend a fair amount of time on some of them... and I do mean "have had to".

There is no comparison to Mac Forums. This place isn't just a forum, it is an on line community. Those other forums I have had to work into over the last week or so are just ...cold... People are snarky, out to one up each other, "RTFM" passes for helpful advice, and the whole atmosphere is just ...challenging.

Mac Forums is such a great place to come back to. We are a community here. A lot of us know each other, if only through length of time reading and responding to each other's posts, and there is a genuine atmosphere of friendliness and trust here.

Lets all keep up the good work. We have carved out a truly unique place on the web here!

I was searching for some Mac info that I hadn't found here the other day. Wound up on some Mac news forum and it reminded me why I'm not a member of other forums! Totally agree with ya, mac57.

Wow! I am glad this was the first forum I stumbled upon! I remember I had a question and decided to join just to ask that question, and never imagined that I would be an active member this long! Thank you to everyone that makes this forum the only one I desire to be a part of!!

I have only been here a short time but I have been a part of webforumssince I was 12 (I'm 17 now) and I know a good one when I see one. I am part of countless forums and even administrate one. I have my favorite photography forum, my favorite Mazda forum, and I don't even have a Mac yet and I love it here.

I just got here a couple weeks ago, same reason; wanted to browse around and ask for something... and I ended up browsing the whole place and I like it a lot... I do feel that good vibe in M-F, how everyone just jump to answer, even tho our questions (I just recently switched) could sound kinda daft sometimes... and ppl always answer with a great attitude. Been a member of a few forums before, as well... and at the end it´s all about the atmosphere.

Love it here ^^
