HI,

not sure what part of the forum to stick this in so itll go here for now! Im wanting to buy another macbook to replace my PC laptop. Anyway i want to get it on finance from apple for two years and was just wondering if you have to make a downpayment or if you just get charged monthly?

reason im doing this is to pay off my credit card with the money from my PC laptop sale and also gain a macbook and get it on finance so i can tie myself to it for 2 years so i dont just sell it again at chirstmas! as i am bad for buying and selling stuff a few months after buying it! i dunno its like an addiction! call me del boy if you will! ;D

Thanks for any helpful advice!

apple credit in the states is a Visa / Master Card and you get a monthly statement with a minimum payment.

Thanks but i actually meant, when you get the option to pay the computer up over a set period of either 24 or 36 months.

You just have to pay at least the minimum amount each month or you can pay any amount that you want each month as long as it is equal or more than the minimum amount due. For a $2000 computer, the minimum due may be $55 but you can pay any amount over $55. You have any amount of time you wish to pay off that balance. The longer it takes however, the more interest you keep paying and the more expensive that $2000 computer becomes.
The credit card companies don't set up a one year or two year plan to pay it off because they want you to pay on it for a long time, more money for them. That's also why they have a minimum payment due each month, that minimum payment on a $2000 computer will keep going for several years and lots more interest they get to collect. Pay it off as quickly as you can.

Thanks again, but i have a credit card and i know how they work, and as i have said before i am not talking about getting a credit card from apple or any other bank.

Its a fixed payment plan basically like a loan and you pay back a certain amount each month for 24 or 36 months. I was wondering as with some of these options you have to pay so much % of the total and then pay the rest over the named period.

I could put this purchase on my credit card but its got a big enough balance on it just now as it is!
