What I'm doing doesn't seem to be working. I'm using limewire (hey a legal use of limewire) to play music files from the old pc. I launch limewire and itunes on both and i can see the limewire liberary. so far so good. But I can't seem to save anything to the mac. Is there an easy way to make a shared folder on the windows xp pc and get into it from an imac?

Using a direct connection from the PC to the Mac with an ethernet cable. Search the forums a bit for more information. ;)

Eric is right, connecting the two computer directly would be the easiest, and fastest, way to transfer files from one computer to the other. If you have an external hard drive, you can also use that. But again, the Ethernet method is MUCH faster.
