Help me set this up..what else do I need?

I have an external hard drive hooked up to an Airport Express base, as well as an additional Airport Express base that stands on its own.

I can access one base or the other, or the internet from my powerbook however I can't access them all at the same time. and this is getting the internet wirelessly from my roommates router.

From what I gathered, I could use Base 1 that would connect to the internet. Then the other Base 2 (containing the harddrive) could connect to Base 1, allowing me to access both the internet and my network hard drive at the same time.

Please someone help me set this up as i can't figure it out.

Now If I REALLY don't have the right equipment then please let me know.

but if you don't really have a solution, please don't tell me to just buy an Airport Extreme or something

thanks definitely cleared up some understanding about the general workings..
