Hello, I gave up my Linux box in order to buy this Mac and now I'm bored with it. I need something neat to do with it. I don't mean digital photos or anything like that I mean some really gnarly hacks I can do to this computer. I spent a bunch of time hacking kernels and tweaking file systems and pouring over .config scripts trying to get every ounce I could out of it. There just doesn't seem to be a lot to do to a Mac.

Why don't use install a ppc or x86 linux distro depending on what type of mac you have, and continue your hacking linux...

I guess therefore defeating the purpose of owning the mac.

Ah man, you HAVE to get fink ( http://fink.sourceforge.net ) and install X it should be on one of the software disks. You can run all kinds of X applications, compile your own, it'll even allow you to run kde and what not as well, it's really fun. I think you'd enjoy it.

Well, I assume you're already triple booting OS X, Ubunutu and XP right? Complete with custom boot icons and grub?

I have fink installed but I am not having much luck, is there a place to go to learn about how to run kde?
