Linking to HDTV @ 1080p????

Hi,

I have a Sharp LC42XD1EA, I want to link my 15.4" MacBook Pro (X1600 ATI 256MB) up to it.

Is DVI to HDMI the best way?
Can anyone recommend any cable which will work well?
Can this graphics card support 1980x1080 (1080p) because i know it only goes up to 1400x900 on the 15.4" screen.
