Nice wallpaper, Matt. For some odd reason it reminds me of Hansel and Gretel.. You know, without the gingerbread house and all. lol.

Here's mine for the month. I haven't been changing mine very much from month to month anymore. I can't believe it's July already; the summers go by so fast now.

Thanks, it's just a temp while I get around to making something.

What are those icons on the side that list the hard drives (partitions?) and the amount of space left on them? I'd like to get that for my Mac when I get it.

Thanks, it's just a temp while I get around to making something.

What are those icons on the side that list the hard drives (partitions?) and the amount of space left on them? I'd like to get that for my Mac when I get it.

The two red icons with white dots on them, they're part of my external 200GB drive. I partitioned it into two sections, one 170gb for media and the rest for backup (important files only). You can have it show the current space usage as well as free space, if you right click on the desktop, go to show view options, then click on "view item info".

When you get your mac, your desktop is going to look a lot different than mine.

For ex, you'll see a white transparent background in your dock. You can get rid of it, if you'd like, using ClearDock. Also, the dock itself will be positioned on the bottom. You can download Onyx (a Mac maintenance tool) and play around with these settings. I'd recommend downloading it anyway, unless you want to run commands via the terminal (like sudo sh /etc/daily or sudo sh /etc/weekly).

You can also change your icons, if you'd like. You can get some excellent ones at interfacelift (http://interfacelift.com/). All you do is download the icons, then click on the file, hit Apple + C (to copy). Then, navigate to the file's icon that you want to replace, go to view options, and click on the picture on the top left of the new window that'll pop up, and hit Apple + V (to paste).

Anyway, sorry for rambling, but just wanted to let you know beforehand so you know what to do.

Enjoy the new mac!

Hey, how do i change the icons like you did?

Thanks! Changing icons is really simple. For regular icons (most apps, folders, etc), you need to secondary-click and "Get Info". After that, click on the icon near the top-left of that window. It should "glow" blue. Once it's blue, you can Paste a different icon in there with cmd+v or using the menubar.

For changing the hard drive and Finder icons, I use a program called CandyBar.

There are tons of icons on http://interfacelift.com

Sorry, I didn't see your post until now.

To get my dock to stay on the top left, I have a program called Onyx. You can change it from there.

I'm using the temperature to see if I need to manage my fan RPMs, when it gets too hot. I actually just disabled iStat altogether, so I don't have it anymore.

I tried that program but didn't like it. I would like it better if the tabs stayed aligned with each other and moved as the one next to them got bigger or smaller. It would also have been nice if the tabs went away when the window was re-opened.

I tried that program but didn't like it. I would like it better if the tabs stayed aligned with each other and moved as the one next to them got bigger or smaller. It would also have been nice if the tabs went away when the window was re-opened.
If the tabs went away when the window was re-openend then u couldnt be able to "minimize" to tab again...and u should do again the drag think which is annoying to do it every-time...the align feature would be cool tho ;D

I was in the same boat as you a while ago, here it is. I don't use it, but I did save it.

I am to lazy to post mine, but I was working in Kingston Ontario last week and from the dock I took a picture of some lilypads in the Lake.

Also I might be alone in this but I really don't like to use some one else's BG. But I did use one a few months back some one posted a picture that had been PS'ed It was a close up of a human eye with the earth reflecting in the
pupil. Thought it was very cool.

hi ppl.

okay- my desktop this month (on my naughty pc) eek forgive me.
its from the really awesome Italian Car and Bike Show in Colchester, UK.

it was erm...last weekend cant remember the date but anyways- good weather (just held out) and great cars and bikes.
2 enzo's turned up. was so cool. one black one red. i jumped in the black one. :) yay

The car in this pic is mine and my bf's Mondi.
its a great pic taken with the very inexpensive Casio Exilim 10 megapixel.
i managed to not get all the car in so doh! sorry! photography was never my strong point. nonethless its not a bad pic for me!

off to another event this wknd at Silverstone UK and have central parking yippee-hopefully next to the Enzos and some other classic cars as its a Classic car day to!

il redesign my mac laptop wallpaper for next month.

take care all.

He was a genius.

My wife and I visited it a number of years ago. It was a hot summer day, in the 90s/30s. The house was cool and comfortable, cooled by nature. I could have stayed there and never left.

When you see the forethought going into the design it makes you bemoan the lack of it in the majority of housing.
