Airport transfer

Hi,

I'm transferring some large files between my MBP and my fiance's MB. The transfer is only going at .5mb/sec. Is that weird?

Is there a way for me to speed it up?

Your Mac's Specs
MB White 160GB, 2GB RAM,
Try through ethernet cable (RJ45) or firewire cable. I tried through RJ45 and got a decent 300-400mbps conn.
