Desktop printer icon won't appear-HELP

Ever since I used file sharing last week, I can't get the icon (that actually looks like the printer) for my LaserWriter Plus to appear on my beige G3 desktop (OS 9.2.2). All that I can get to appear is the generic printer icon (two ampersands on page coming out of a printer). I can print, I just can't get the correct icon to appear. I have reinstalled the ppd, rebuilt the desktop, and rerun the LaserWriter setup in the Chooser. When I go into the Desktop Printer Utility, I can only see LaserWriter 8 (the generic printer), and not my LaserWriter Plus. I'm stumped...and frustrated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

I have finally solved this problem. I downloaded a fresh set of drivers and reinstalled the LaserWriter Plus ppd from the fresh set. (Previously, I had reinstalled the driver from a spare set I kept on my HD.) Fortunately, that did the trick. The generic printer icon is gone...my LaserWriter Plus desktop printer icon is back...and I am happy.
