Tracking podcast activity...help.

I'm new at podcasting, and I'd like to be submitting new podcasts on a regular basis... I would find it beneficial to be able to track the activity on which podcasts were downloaded. I've read that some podcasters have "figured out" how to do it, as we know that iTunes perovides no such service...
Any assistance with what others have learned in this department would be greatly appreciated.
