Do you think Apple will wait to release their new desktop line until October?

Who knows? We'll just have to wait and see. Trying to speculate about Apple's plans is, to put it bluntly, just plain stupid

Agreed, a lot of people were dissappointed from the WWDC keynote because they set their expectations too high. You can make some speculations, but don't write em in stone.

Stupid or not, the reality is - some of us are going to be correct with our speculations, and some of us are going to be wrong. It's gonna be alright either way.

I was hoping for some info too. I bought my iMac G5 2 months before the intel ones came out, I was gutted. I kept holding off for them but in the end decided I could end up waiting forever so bought one.
So I've always kind of wanted to upgrade to intel ever since I got it and with Leopord coming out it seems like the perfect time.

Even if they don't update the iMacs, you still won't have to pay for the Leopard upgrade.

I think they will come out with a new line of desktops and probably laptops. They might not though.

Either way they will come with Leopard installed

Has Apple ever released a major redesign outside of one of their major yearly events in the past 10 years?

In my experience, Apple doesn't coordinate hardware and software releases. It seems that Apple doesn't want too many announcements at once, which would risk some of them being "buried" in all the media coverage.

The MacBook, the second-gen "dual USB" iBook and eMac were all introduced with a press conference, or less. Perhaps others, as well.
