Guy on ebay says he has iphone in hand for sale?

Check out this ebay auction and let me know what you think.. Do you think this guy really has one or is he a fake?

some Chineese electronic companies made fake iphones already.may be this is one of them

Thats made out of cardboard. You can tell by the way the light hits it in one of the pictures.

I seem to remember seeing a funny video on Youtube that looks like the same setting as those pictures...they were acting really excited about their paper iphone lol.

I agree!!

it's fake. His story is no where near sounding real for one. The device whatever it is made out of is of poor quality.
There are so many errors in the listing as well, the main being payment. He will only accept US bidders but needs international money orders? What the heck is that anyways?

I didn't trust it enough to look closely. I read the story and assumed it was fake. My limited experiences with ebay have been negative, so color me biased.

Isn't it also a great coincidence that the time on his iPhone reads as 9:41?

Whenever someone feels the need to change their username, it isn't a good sign.

B. This item is not covered by buyer protection on eBay

C. "I received these phones from an electronics convention I went too in las vegas last month where a friend of mine that works for apple was giving 50 of them out. (He let me grab 2 of them for myself)."

...yeah, right. :/

D. Apple has already stated on their site and in their commercials that the iPhone will not be available until June 29th, 2007.

I think the only honest thing in this listing is this line:

"What you get is what you see in the picture"

Dude, it's one of those cardboard cut-outs. This is a scam, pure and simple.

I agree it does look Cardboardish. But darn, it looks like he is getting $600 for a piece of Cardboard with 14 bidders.

Honestly are people in that much of a hurry to be scammed so easily??!

he is also putting it in a mighty mouse box, you can tell its cardboard by how badly the edges have been folded. When the light hits it, there is not shine, its just dull, definitely a scam.

For those of you unfamiliar with ebay follow these simple rules:

1) Trust your gut instinct, if it feels like a scam, it probably is.
2) When you suspect a scam, look at the user's score (this guys is an 8). Had his score been in the thousands, with a 99% positive score, it would be a different story.

I have never been scammed on ebay, but I always follow the above rules. Just stick with power sellers, people who's reputation = their monthly income, and you will be fine.

This is almost certainly a scam, and it stinks that ebay hasn't caught this.

those people on ebay... I could just slap them all day!

Edit: He is using a box for a mighty mouse and just cut out some edges inside to make it fit. The picture he glued to it on the outside has the same time as his "iPhone". stupid guy!

ugh, I wonder if eBay will ban iPhone sales once it really comes out.

Have they ever banned certain cell phones from being sold before? If so, why is that?

And he is a windows xp user.
