This is a picture I took of the Mayan pyramid Xunantunich (Pronounced shoo-NAHN-too-nich) in Belize

Nothing fancy was used...Casio Exilim point and shoot camera
These ruins are located near the Guatemala border...I believe that this specific pyramid is called El Castillo....it sure felt like a castle:)

Lens - Canon 75-300mm POS that's about to get replaced with a 70-200
Shutter Speed: 20/1 Second @ F/13

There was a nice full moon going so I quickly set up my tripod around 4am (just got back from screening Knocked Up) and captured this shot which I'm fairly proud of. Enjoy

If your on iPhoto you can export the picture to 800 by 600pix to the desktop...You really do not need to change the resolution on your camera...resizing is done completely on the computer

The lens is wonderful. Haven't taken it off my D70 since I got it. Here's a tip, check your local camera shops to see if they have one in stock. They are backordered all over the internet but I found one locally and saved about $150 off what they are going for on eBay and other online vendors.

The lens is very sharp and I can hand hold with success down to 1/8 of a second. The range is fabulous as I can go from wide angle to telephoto in one quick motion.

iKitten, thanks and I love the flowering cactus. Nice catch!

Usually stuff is backordered, now correct me if I'm wrong, when more of an item is ordered than there is available. Just a guess.

I went for a walk today, a 2.5 mile (4 km) stroll. I brought the camera with me. On the way back I saw something and took the picture. The first pic is the main pic, taken with the camera on macro with the camera being very close to the flower. It was after I was looking at the image on the Mac that I noticed the other subject in the second zoomed image. ^_^

Fwiw, these were very tiny blossoms. The plant would have been regarded as a weed. Weed. Sure. All you need to do is look closely and you see beauty others might have discarded.
