Check it out. Was doctoring up a ringtone for the mrs. and noticed my HD available space drop (was also working on some home movie editing so I was expecting my drive to get crowded) substantially but didn't notice at first.

After poking around I found my 30 second clip in QuickTime took up 32 GB on the disk!! That's insane.

I deleted it using the shift-apple-delete, no drama now.

Any ideas why it swelled to 32GB? If I remember correctly I just edited it from my itunes.

tks.

ps. I still have alot to learn about this sucker.

Depending on the settings you used to edit it, it may or may not take up as much space as the original file.

Unless the quality was set to something like 2gbps vs. something like 320kbps, I doubt it should take up THAT much space..
