I don't recall seeing this discussed, but I was wondering if the iPhone has a vibrating ring function. It seems like a necessity to me.

It would be pretty stupid not to include a vibrating function on a phone. I mean, when was the last time you saw a phone that didn't have that particular feature?

DB is right, we will soon know. I agree with Kash, it would be stupid not to include that as every cell phone I have used or owned had it. Comes in handy also.

Wow, I guess you guys think I'm not very bright. Perhaps it is an obvious assumption. Then again, so was including a floppy drive on computers, until Apple stopped.

Not at all. In fact I was wondering myself if it had a Vibrate mode as I am in places a lot of times I can not have it ring but Vibrate is fine. No Thorin, it was a good question, but hopefully well will know the answer after the iphone is released!!

I really can't imagine they'd leave that function out. It's like saying "Hey! it's our 1st phone, we don't really know what we're doing."

I hope that it does have a vibrate function as I am only allowed to have my phone on Silent or Vibrate at work.

It's not a dumb question at all and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it doesn't. To me, having the first full web browser on a phone, it seems like common sense to include the fastest possible connectivity: 3G. But I guess common sense isn't so common, even for a pseudo-god like Steve Jobs.

(yes, I know, it's just built-in obsolescence for the next gen iPhone. Let the suckers buy them first!)

The Nokia N90 (only a couple of years old now) didn't have a vibrate function. I never had one, but a friend did. He also had a lot of missed calls ...

I can't imagine it not having a vibrate function. If it doesn't, it will be a definite killer for me.
