...play games that are on CD from 1993/1994? What kind of a Mac/OS do I need? They won't work on my OS X. All info appreciated. Thanks.

Classic OS9 is the OS9 system installed along with OS10 version. While you are working in OS10, Classic OS9 becomes the environment where you are able to use or work on OS9 files without switching systems.

If your Mac is an Intel machine, then you can't play it. Intel Macs have no support for Classic.
