There are "Doubles" and "Triples" in the tulip family with some unusual pedal structures, this may be one of them starting to open.

Hey RIDE what kind of dog is that? He/She is BEAUTIFUL.

Hi Keef!
She is a Rhodesian Ridgeback (AKA African Lion Hound)... Mostly famous for the "ridge" of hair on their backs that grow in the opposite direction of the the rest of their coat. She is the second Ridgeback I have had as apart of our family... Truly incredible dogs (the perfect dog IMO) :D.
Unbelievably well behaved with young kids, and beyond loyal and protective of the kids, the family, and the house. Smart to a fault... This girl is 4.5 months old, and can open every door in the house, unless they are dead-bolted. :D They are lazy in the house, then will never tire when on the go.

Check out these links:

Im really impressed with that photo whambamslamglam!

I think though, perhaps the background could do with being a little lighter. Its a cool shot but to me, with such a cool background, it should be shown off more.

Then again photography like any art (or indeed most things in life) is subjective and so take all opinions on that basis :)

Hey guys

I'm new here so Hi!

I just bought myself a Canon 350 DSLR.... I've never really taken photos before and having had 4 days now I've been out taking hundreds of shots and trying to learn lots about it.

The first photo I took with it though is this one... and I thought it was pretty. My technique isn't up to much yet, I know... but its spring and the area I live in is starting to look so nice with tonnes of these about :)

Anyway... I'll look forward to learning lots from here, some of the photos in this thread are beautiful!

Tulip, and the boat scene are my favorites so far! Great pictures!

I have it hosted at www.flickr.com

Just grab the photo's URL and when posting, click on the little yellow button with the mountain and the little square in the upper right hand corner. A window should appear asking for the URL and just paste it in there. It should put the image url with the (img)(/img) tags around it, substituting the ('s with ['s.

Nice shot man... you know, it's amazing you don't have to go to far off lands (although it's nice to) to find great shots... Hey. How did you insert the picture instead of attaching it? Just curious, new to the forums

Hey Village Idiot. I really like the picture you took! Just wanted to say that!
Well, That's all for now.

I'll start with this one.

I was shooting an angel statue at a cemetery less than a mile from my place and applied a lomo action created by one of the photographers on the Canon Digital Photography Forums. I like the way it turned out. It looks amazing printed out as a 8x12.

This is really a great photo. It is amazing what you can do with a few nuances of color.

I am not being partial because I used to have a tiger cat like that, but I really like this photo. I like the fact that each eye looks like a different color in the photo. The angle that the cat's eyes sit on also adds interest to the composition. Great colors and textures...

Wow, thanks. I was just messing around with my new camera, a Canon SD1000.

I love animal face shots where you get a really crisp photo with all the detail from the eyes and fur. Below is a snapshot I took of my Doberman which turned out amazing. Down sizing from 8mp to 800x533 really hurt the detail though, but you can still tell a bit...

I have one of this some where, with the selective color effect targeting the eyes so every thing else is in B&W. Looks eerie.

Hello all, anyone know what type of bird this is? Took the photo in my back yard.

I think it is a lesser gold finch. It is a little tricky how to identify birds because of females looking very much different than males. I looked the photo up in the National Audubon Society Field Guide to Birds. That is as close as I can come up with an answer. Beside the color, I also took into consideration that it is eating grains.

Its a female , and yes I would say a finch of some description. Send it to bird lovers site, they would tell you in a jiffy.

It was that big I had to be careful opening it as I didn't want to frighten the cat....ROFL

Took this down at the river by me, I was lazy and didn't throw my polarizer on and tried to tweak it out a bit in photoshop and added a warming filter to it. I shoot with a Canon Rebel XT. Not my best work but just starting out on these forums hope to get out in may and take some more shots. Check out my stuff at Http://osurico112.deviantart.com

Went to the Beach Hop 07' in the weekend, an event that showcases some of NZ's finest old school rides and muscle cars. So many immaculate cars and so many people, so I end up focusing on details, which is a challenge in itself. Anyway, this one comes out kinda abstract, but its the hood scoop of a Mach 1 mustang.
