I have a problem getting places, I always get lost or spend a bazillion dollars on paper and mapquest.

I am looking to spend 100-150 on a gps system, I would have no problems just plugging it in to my macbook and mounting my macbook on my dash.

Does anybody know what kind is good, what is out there?

I do something very similar to what you are proposing. What I recommend is that you use either bootcamp or parallels to run WindowsXP. After that, buy something like this and you're all set.

blech, i need windows though. i was hoping i could use it with os x.

could i use any reciever like that and find some software for osx?

what i want to do is create a user account with specific keyboard shortcuts and stuff. it would be very easy to use while driving. obviously something i think i would only be able to do under os x.
