How fast does sytem properties report CPU Speed?

If I right-click mycomputer and select properties (you can also go to Control Panels > System), how fast does it say your computer is running? Mine says it is a T7200 @ 2.0 GHz but the speed it is running at (shown below what CPU you have) is always reports as 997 MHz.

Anybody else get the same results?

That's just the speed step on the processor. If the processor was under a load it would show higher. You can also go to power options and switch to "Always On" and it will lock it at the full speed.

this is under windows i assume ? reporting it wrong likely

if you under windows, get CPUZ to check the speeds.

also, close the properties, use something to %100 and then recheck.
