Hi All,

I am a newbie to the forum and also Mac. I am loving it so far. That said, I have a question that may seem really stupid and if it does, I apologize.

I am trying to learn some of the keyboard shortcuts but several require the use of a symbol that eludes me.

Which key is the one that looks a bit like a backslash with little extra bits on it? For instance, it is used on one of the shortcuts to alter the screen contrast.

I'm already blushing. Thanks for any help.

Do you want to know where the key is on your keyboard or what the key looks like or do you just want to know what the posters above me have told you?

EDIT: I see this is answered now ;)

Welcome nemick, you'll find this a very friendly and helpful group. And as you can see below, you're not the only one with questions! I'll ask another related one. What is the key called that has the apple and the little twirrly sign on it next to the option/alt key? I know some of it's uses, but I don't really know what it's called. thanks

Like stated above there are no stupid questions, and anybody who believes otherwise does not belong here.

fyi, the newer keyboards, like mine, don't have the symbol, just "alt option"

To be perfectly honest, I had never even seen that particular symbol anywhere before I asked this question. Sure enough, upon checking my Mac's keyboard again, all mine says is alt. At least I no longer feel like I am going blind.

Thanks for the welcomes and the responses.
