Reason for the change is my work place is switching to Mac and i am the support person for all PC's and Mac's.

Processor: Pentium DualCore 3.6ghz 4mbL2 Cache

Simple answer.. No, you can't.. Not legally that is (I'm not going to get into it due to forum rules).

You can, however, "mod" your theme to look like a Mac.

You can add a dock by downloading StarDock's ObjectDock, add a really good Mac OS X theme by downloading FlyAKiteOSX, and adding a "menu bar" by also using StarDock's ObjectBar and applying an OS X theme to it.

I did that for a while before I got my Mac's. You can download icons for the "dock" and themes from www.wincustomize.com

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Gah! You guys must've replied as I was typing this post! :p

5k? your specs don't seem to be much higher than a basic power mac. you can use the external hard drive and other peripherals if you want, but the basic box should be very similar. and at $2499, half of what you're thinking, you'll have a quad processor too, not just a dual.

I would bet you could go out and spend $2,000 on a mac with lower specs and it will be faster than your pc.. They run totally different. a 1ghz chip in a mac will run totally different than a 1ghz chip in a PC.. I suggest you go to your local apple store and play around with some of their Mac's and see what you think.

OSX will only install on Apple Hardware unless you hack the OS. Discussions on how to do so are prohibited on this forum, but if you know how to use Google, you can figure it out.

Apple has done this on purpose as they only want it used on their computers and have not licensed the OS for use on any other systems. Installing OSX on any other hardware will violate the EULA that you agree to when you buy OSX.

Here is what you need. First get your credit card or cash and head to your nears Apple store. Look at the hardware choose on display. Pick one that suits your needs, then purchase it with the said credit card or cash. Once you have completed this transaction, you will have Mac OS X. :p

Don't forget to place your old system on e-bay, you will need the cash for a fresh license of Microsoft windows vista. So you can install it with bootcamp.
