Hi there everyone! I suppose I should introduce myself as this is my first post to Mac Forums. The name is Todd, I'm the producer for Combat Films and Research (http://combatfilms.com) and I'm proud to say myself, as well as the company, is 100% mac based.

Here's the meat of the post. We have a script, spotty at best, to allow subscribe/unsbscribe options to our enewsletter. This script also enables us to send said enewletter out. We are having problems using the script with our internet hosting companies; IX webhosting and Readyhosting. While providing bandwidth and storage at a reasonable price, they don't do much in the way of solving your issues.

We want to see if it is possible to us a mac mini as an in-house email server. Some of our questions:

Can it work?
How do we make it work (who can set that type of thing up)?
Is it reliable?
Does it work with .asp?

Aside from those questions, we don't really know what else to ask so we would love any feedback or thoughts that would help in the matter.

Best Wishes,

Since OS X is BSD/Unix based, setting up a mail server can't be a problem at all. There are lot of free and commercial software you can use for this. The popular POSTFIX server is installed by default but you might need a more user friendly GUI to set it up.

Great! This is a great start! As we are getting a new webmaster I'll be passing all of this along to him. Thanks novicew!
