Resizing/Deleting partitions?

Here is what happend:

I used diskutil to resize my partition to 40GB. Then i installed rEFIT which is a bootloader type thing. I then booted to a linux cd and installed it. I want to resize my partition again to 30GB. For some reason it won't work, any ideas?
