What I find interesting is the key they used to open the lock on the truck. A screw driver and a bolt cutter.

The bolt is there for security reasons. It has a serial number on it. If it has been messed with, the receiver has the right to refuse the shipment incase the shipment has been tampered with. ie, some one trying to pick off 1 or 2 of these things from the order.

I've seen it before at computer stores that I've worked at when I had to bring the shipments in and count/unpack everything.

Smart move for Apple. They could have given those students free MBPs and it would have been a good move. If they get the students hooked on Apple now, the money they will spend on Apple in the future will more than make up for it. Especially if they become industry entrepreneurs or leaders and influence others to use it.

This is the same tactic many companies use, like Adobe and most notably Microsoft. Unfortunately, Microsoft gets a lot of negative press for it as it is viewed as their move toward world monopolization rather just a smart business move like other companies.

I wish my school had such a program, but I'm just happy with the cheap software. I wonder how much they actually cost the students.
