Each member can post one desktop in this thread each month.

The desktop cannot be larger than 800x600.

Not only will posting inappropriate desktop pictures get them deleted, it will also get you banned. This includes anything semi-lewd. This is a family forum if it's not PG then don't post it.

Here is mine :D

You can upload it as an attachment on the forums, in the advanced reply window click manage attachments. You could also try Flickr it resizes the big ones, but it might be ok with your image. Uploading it to the forum is probably your best bet.

No, there isn't a free version of Shapeshifter. There are a few programs that attempt to do the same thing, but they arent as effective, or as safe.

trpnmonkey41
02-01-2007, 10:42 PM
Yep I have a lot of storage. I record everything I watch on TV which takes up over 1gb per hour, i spend almost all of my disposable income on music and dvd's and back them all up on externals in addition to ripping the music cds.

and took the picture last week at school....cold as ice out there

eric
02-01-2007, 11:43 PM
whew! well, i guess i can't really talk. got about a thousand cds (and have sold back almost that many) and hundreds of dvds, i just don't back a lot of them up, though i do rip a lot of the cds for mixes and such, but most of that ends up as optical media.

I just used photoshop to change the colour of the "Aqua Blue" wallpaper that came with osx. I uploaded mine for you here..
http://members.shaw.ca/ultrimadon/aquagreen.jpg

If you want to make your one with your own colour, just open up the wallpaper (or any other picture) in photoshop, hit apple+u, check off "colourize" and play with the sliders.

Thought I'd ask here instead of a new thread as it's just a quick question- I bought iCreate magazine and it had a disk with some desktop backgrounds on it. It allowed me to "Click to use" an image but when it was set as the desktop I am unable to find it, and if I change it I can't seem to get it back except by loading the disk once more - Any idea where these will be stored?

RiDE
02-08-2007, 10:37 AM
Not for sure as I haven't used iCreate... My guess is that you need to drag the image to your desktop (or into what ever file you'd like... other than the CD-ROM).... Then you can go into "Sytem Preferences"... "Desktop/Screensaver" within the "Desktop" tab, on the left click "Choose Folder"... then navigate to where you saved your chosen image, double click it... Viola!

Ah; now you're asking something... I honestly can't remember.

I'll add it as an attachment to this post and as long as the mods don't mind it being bigger than 800X600 (see first post) then you should be able to get it by clicking on my attachment and saving the image that pops up.

First post, long time reader. I am looking for an icon system replacement. I am looking for a very simple set of icons. I saw a se once on these boards. I have been to interfacelift and deviant art, and could not find one i liked. Does anyone have one they would like to share or another place i could look. Iappreciate the help and when I get it all set i will post the result here.

Thanks in advance

How well does ThemePark work?

ThemePark is the official application that makes guikits. Shapeshifter just applies guikits.

I did read that with ShapeShifter, you can tweak existing themes, but not create new ones.

How light is ThemePark on your system? It has to run in the background right?

You can color tweak in Shapeshifter, not much more than that.

Themepark only takes 6MB once you use Xslimmer on it (to make it Intel only). By default, it's around ~11MB. Themepark is basically a theme creator/editor (think of it as the Photoshop of Themes). Shapeshifter is only needed to run in the background to run themes.

Stretch
02-14-2007, 05:47 PM
Themepark doesnt not run all the time. Its not a different shapeshifter. Themepark is used to create themes. Thats it, it cant do more. You have to create the elements you want themed in something like photoshop, then themepark takes those elements and creates a theme that shapeshifter can then use to theme your computer.

chicago
02-14-2007, 06:04 PM
So you only need shapeshifter if you are only going to use other people themes?

Themepark is strictly for making themes?

Paralex
02-14-2007, 06:08 PM

No no no no. Every theme creator uses Themepark to make themes. That's where you construct everything then you export the theme as a GUIkit so you can use it in Shapeshifter.

chicago
02-14-2007, 06:19 PM
Right... Themepark is for making themes, Shapeshifter is for executing those themes.

So, you only really need Shapeshifter to execute the themes. If you want to create the themes as well, you'll need Themepark additionally.

Also is it easy to uninstall themes once you find out you don't like 'em?
