Hey!

I wonder if you could be so nice to advice me on the following:

I am considering buying the following disc:

http://www.westerndigital.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=262&language=en

The thing is that this is a USB2 and a USB powered disc. I need a portable disc to backup/clone my MacBook in case of emergency. It also needs to be bootable in case of system crash.

My question is:
Is it possible to make a bootable backup on this disc even though it is a USB, and will it be able to perform as a boot disc even though it has no external power supply?

(I use SuperDuper)

I appreciate any advice on the matter.

It should work with new intel based Macs. However the SuperDuper developers encourage users to use FireWire supported drives instead. Try a external HDD with a fw support, if possible.
