I was just perusing my profile, and I see that two people have left me negative reputation points. That doesn't bother me, perhaps I've done something to bother them.

However, what does bother me is that neither person even wrote anything - the comment field is empty. They were also for two very "generic" comments (I can't think of a better way to describe it, but thats not a very good word - in one I said that I had experienced some trouble using OEM XP discs in bootcamp and the other was in response to someones question in my internet speed thread).

Are you even allowed to leave reputation points without a comment? It just strikes me as odd.

Thanks for any insight :)

Yes you are allowed to leave negative rep with out leaving a comment.

Its just part of the game, get back up and keep going. I get negitive rep, everybody gets it, you just have to get up and keep going.

Yes, you can. There are many threads and posts on this. Using search should get you some answers.

The rep system allows this, and that's part of the fun. If you're a good user, your good reps will outweigh your bad reps, and it wouldn't matter. Obviously it isn't very constructive to leave no comment, but sometimes we can all be haters... legallly :) .
