Photo Development ????

This might be a total newbie question... but hey... I'm a newbie.


So I have a photo that I absolutely love (Hypothetical)... I've tweaked, and brushed it up to just perfect. Now, I want to develop it to be, lets say, 24" x 36" (Large), to have mounted, framed, and hung in my living room.

Where do you go to have the photo developed, etc????

I assume that you are talking a digital file? In which case I use www.photobox.co.uk
You just upload the file to them and they print it then send it to you.

Nice!!! Thank you. I am in the US, but I will surely be able toy find a similar company here.

You can do it in iphoto, click on order prints.

just make sure the photo dimensions are good enough to print that large. When it comes to printing, you can't skimp on any details. Don't ever enlarge images, just make sure you have the best quality original.

Most camera shops these days have their own print centers. You'd probably have to scout around a bit for the best quality vs. price. I've actually seen some pretty nice prints from shops like that. I had some photos printed at a kodak shop, and was pretty happy with the results. They often have a DIY print station to send your order through. Doing it through a store, you get to see the results quicker, and query anything if there are problems.

any local kodak or other photo developer has the software. Make sure you convert the file to sRGB beforehand, or contact the company to see if they accept other colorspaces.

I should not have said "accept" but should have said what color space they prefer or print with. If they do not convert the image to the colorspace they print with and you do not provide them with it the prints may not look as you expect them too.
