Can a xbox wirless internet bridge pick up an airport extreme signal?

Yes.. The xbox wireless acts as a wireless ethernet cable, same as the airport card found in Macs, and other computers. It should connect to your wireless router/airport extreme base-station. If you're going to be going on Live or streaming audio/video, I would recommend using a wired connection over wireless.
