ILife '06 DVD-R drive compatibility issues?

Are there any DVD drive compatibility issues to be aware of with/in iLife '06....namely iPhoto and iDVD

My Powerboook doesn't have a SuperDrive and so i'm looking to get an external drive of some sort.....found a silver Pioneer drive so far (to match the Powerbook)

can't say for sure, but I imagine there wouldn't be. So long as the blank DVD is detected, there shouldn't be problems. I used an external CD burner for my old G3 iMac for ages with no troubles. You should be able to burn just as you would any disc.
