Mac Pro or iMac 24" ?

I am seriously thinking of moving from the PC to a Mac. I am debating between the Mac Pro and iMac 24". Both machines are probably overkill as I will only be doing some photo editing with Photoshop for personal use. Nothing very heavy as I am new to the DSLR area as well. I am tired of the PC constantly slowing down and freezing on me. I understand the Mac handles this type of stuff much better and is much easier to use. I guess my question is will the iMac handle what I want to do and have the capacity to grow with me as I start to edit videos as well and work more with RAW photos. Or should I just invest in the Mac Pro and not worry about it? By the way I have a 20" flat screen Viewsonic monitor I would like to keep and use if I go with the Mac Pro.

Any suggestions would be great.
