Hi,
I am using a USB MP3 (swissbit) player to put some songs onto my Powerbook G4. I have used it successfullyin the past but today i put it in the USB input and a message appeared on the desktop stating "You have inserted a disk containing no volumes that Mac OSX can read. To continue with the disk inserted click ignore." I know the information has been read by the laptop successfully before (earlier today in fact) so i can't understand why this message pops up.

any help would be appreciated,

michael.

Open Disk utility and see if you can erase and repartition the volume.

Does it show up under disk utility? Then select it and hit erase. You'll likely need to run the software that came with it again though, to restore the mp3 playing part of the drive. Most likely you'll need to do this on a windows pc /bootcamp.
