Was a desktop until 3 weeks ago, when I got a macbook and left it behind. I turned my desktop machine on for the first time in a fortnight on Thursday ...

iMac G5 2.1Ghz iSight is Main system I use daily. There are other Desktops like modded G4 DA 1.8Ghz, Core Duo Mini for other work & Home Made AMD 64 system for Gaming.

Laptops are for network service calls and fun away from home, iBook G4 12" and Compaq AMD 64 for PC Network work.

Macbook. It's all I need right now. I might eventually get an iMac or Mac Mini in the distant future.

12" ibook...

However, I feel desktops are far superior (generally). They are much easier to upgrade and do not become out of date quite as easily. However (like me) right now I need the portability with college, shooting surfin' videos, etc. Hopefully, if I run in to a few extra dollars at college I'll have a mini ATX for gaming.

Main is the Quad 2.5 GHz G5, but this is because of FCP & DVD Studio Pro, I feel cramped editing on a laptop.

I love my PowerBoor G4, but it is just for portability. The work takes place on the desktop.

You should have offered an option for "Both". When at home my QUAD is my prime computer, but when I'm out on business for extended periods my iBooks becomes the prime computer.

i'm a laptop guy....

i have 1 desktop to play games etc. but i'm mostly on the laptop...

I like both. My laptop allows me to sit in my garden and potter around on the internet and allows me to take all my work to college and and bring it home again. And my desktop allows me to run downloads and encode video with out any problems and it I can also leave it on for longer periods of time depending on what i download.

But if I had to choose... It would have to be my MacBook

I've used laptops but I'm on a desktop now. When the new "powermacs" come out I'll get one of them, I need the extra power and options now. I'd get both if I could though.lol.

My G4 15" PowerBook is my main computer, and my Cube is a secondary one for mainly music (or streaming if I'm not at my desk).

The 15" screen is a little small, but when I get my MBP for Uni this September, I'll be buying a nice external widescreen to have a dual display setup, plus a Griffin Elevator + Apple KB/MM.

MacBook is my main computer. It's great to be able to take my main computer I used everywhere.
