It's fake, It's been doing the rounds on blogs and such but I think it orignated on applenova forums as a mockup just for fun.

Apples white background makes it easy for photoshoppers but this does look pretty real.

i don't think its real.. i spend most of my day going on the internet and then exiting and going back on in 5 minutes... if they accidently did that I would have noticed because apple.com is my homepage.

The spoof page does go along with the the latest rumors about the Macbooks. Great photoshop job if that is what it is.

No idea if it is genuine or not.
But all I can say for sure is that, if that is a PS it is a real good one :)
I mean the layout, marketing style and everything is very slick, so clearly if this is a fake someone made a whole lot of effort.

well if you take the page format and just change the one box that the macbook is in then its rather simple

Well that is fairly obvious yes.
But it would take a fair amount of someone's time to actually generate the images, data to place in that template either way.

And by all accounts, it does look very professional.
So if it is a fake, it is a very good one :)

Well it does look a little thinner than the G4.. but 5 x faster - they must be kidding.

A separate point - when the MacBooks come out will Apple then sell off the G4s cheaper, and if not why not?

i would say no. they're still selling the 12" powerbook g4 for $1499. i don't think it got a price drop after the macbook pro came out.

It is a fake and has been confirmed as such, it was created by a French person as a joke about the constant delays in the Macbook release and taken from their blog site!

Well this pic turned out to be pretty correct. 5x faster, colors, ir sensor in same position.


EDIT: nevermind the ir sensor is to the right and the button to release the screen is not actually silver.
