I can't scan from the control panel on the printer/scanner Epson xp-324 using a USB cable, I can only scan using the Epson scanner software on my computer. The error I get is 'communication error. Check the connection." Can someone help me

That is the way it works. Go into Applications and in the Epson Software Folder you will find EPSON Scan and go from there.

Make sure all your drivers are up to date. Usually updates are done via Software Update automatically.

Man, I must say that the Epson support site is a PITA to navigate!!
But a google did find a pdf manual, even if for their XP-320 User's Guide:
https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd4/cpd42274.pdf

P 91 does have instructions for scanning from the devices control panel, and connected to a Mac, so maybe try there.

PS: I suspect it might be you asking the same question here: :Smirk:

and here???: :Smirk:

Anyway, I hope this might help get things working.
