Connecting mid-2014 macbook pro to 2016+ imac monitor

How do I connect mid-2014 macbook pro to 2016+ imac monitor?
I believe pre 2014 works with cable, but is there a way after ?

The latest iMacs (2015 and later) do not support Target Display Mode. See the following Apple Support Article.
