I work in airline operations and am trying to improve our workflow.
We do a lot of ad-hoc/short-term stuff, so there is a lot of contracts, set-up, work flows, etc. to be done with each customer. This is a 24 hour operation so we have a lot of people that need to stay in the loop regarding a customer. Right now we are using simple Word/Excel files in a tightly managed file structure. This requires that people have the discipline to open files and read a bunch of stuff; it ends up being easier to ask colleagues about things. Which is not efficient or pleasant for the one Mr.-know-it-all.
I've been thinking of software that can store/manage the process flow. Something that is a depository for the emails, contracts, gives a quick overview of status, etc.
I have no idea where to start. We are thinking like a ticketing system that.
Anyone know where to start such a search? Maybe another forum that discusses software in general? I am only a member here.
