Hi

This is driving me slightly mad.....

I have a CanonXM2 digital camcorder. Essentially, I am pleased with it and do not wish to change it. The camera uses mini DV tapes and the output is .dv

Can anyone explain to me please how I get Da Vinci Resolve to pick up the footage?

How do I get Handbrake to ingest the footage to convert it to a suitable format.

I feel that iMovie degrades the video somewhat and I'm getting a bit paranoid about it all.

Many thanks

Mitch

Hi ferrarr

Thanks for your reply. I did look at the forums - way beyond me for the most part....

Also, I followed the link that you suggested and found this:

Importing footage into DaVinci Resolve

DaVinci Resolve can be used to either:

Create Dailies, Proxies or Intermediary codecs, or
Color grade locked edits

To do the former, you import either file-based codecs or capture via camera directly. Since the latter option has both feet in the grave, I’ll ignore it.

This is exactly what I want to do and it has been dismissed by the author!

I am no wiser, but thanks for trying...

Mitch
