Flash for older OSX

So I have a 2011 or so MacBook and its running 10.6.8 and because of this I am limited to Firefox 48.0.2


Recently I've noticed my Mac is really struggling to play youtube videos sometimes. Firefox is the only program open and having more than 2 tabs can be a nightmare, not always. My flash is out of date but I cant get the newest flash for my older OSX /FF. I am not interested in buying a new macbook.



tl;dr

whats the best version of flash for firefox 48.0.2, if I switch to chrome or safari can I update flash to the actual newest version? Or should I say whats the best way to watch videos and not crap out on this older machine.

Have a read of this from Apple Discussions. NJote Mozilla has stopped support for older FF versions, just as Apple has stopped support for operating systems up to O X.9. Safari is controlled by your operating system an as you are no doubt aware Snow Leopard is an old, old operating system and members frequently report banks etc will not allow OS X.6 access to secure sites. Perhpas it is time to consider upgrading six operating systems to OS X.12.2.

YouTube, increasingly, doesn't use Flash anymore to stream content. Go here and see what support for HTML5 video your OS and Browser will support. If you're not opted-in, turn on HTML5 video support and that should help.

Most video streaming sites are switching over to HTML5 since Adobe has suggested that people start moving away from Flash, so switch over to using HTML5 for your video streaming and you should be fine..

Which version of Flash do you have? I have a Mini running 10.6.8, and it has Flash version 24.0.0.186. My MBP runs 10.11.6 and also has Flash 24.0.0.186 and it tells me that Flash is up to date.

As far as Safari and Flash go regarding Flashversions, both our Mavericks and Snow Leopard iMacs have Flash 24.0.0.186 installed and working. Also the latest the updater tells me.
