i have been having issues with entering my password to logon to macbook air.
i know at times i whiz along too fast and may hit the incorrect letter

but any times i know i have entered it correctly or had caps button on ...the letter on keyboard goes white and i can not get out of it to correct.....the only to get out of this, is to hit home button and start from scratch.

i reboot my iPad air regularly. and keep system updates done as requested.

what could be causing this?
is my macbook air starting to fail already?

i purchased it only last summer. ipad air. version 9.3.2

Hi Lori.... - I'm confused - the title of your thread is 'iPad keyboard blocks entry', then your opening sentence talks about login issue w/ a Macbook Air, followed by rebooting your iPad and ending w/ an iPad statement? Please clarify - if the MB Air is the issue, then provide model/year and also the OS X installed - if you are also having an issue w/ the iPad, please clearly separate the descriptions or just concentrate on one which is easier to address - you can always start a new thread. Dave :)

When you say "i reboot my iPad air regularly", do you mean you restart, or do you force restart? Also, are you forcing apps to close correctly?

i am so sorry dave. yes i made a mistake. i was referring to my iPad air.
i am trying to fight off a head cold and guess my brain is not working at its best.
maybe best to leave my questions until i am feeling better.

by rebooting i mean, pressing wake/sleep button and then click slider to turn off.

Since the keyboard is part of iOS, and you are saying it only happens when logging into the iPad Air, I would suggest a reinstall of iOS.

Hi again Lori.... - no problem, just needed to know the exact issue and on which device - as already linked by Bob, there are actually 3 maneuvers that can be used for an iDevice: 1) Force Close (an app); 2) Restart; and 3) Reset - explained HERE (http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ipad/ipad-troubleshooting-repair-faq/ipad-how-to-reboot-restart-frozen-hung-crashed-force-quit-apps.html) - before doing the iOS restoration, you might want to try a 'RESET', i.e. hold down both the ON-OFF & HOME buttons until the Apple logo appears (may take 10 secs or so), then release and allow the iPad to reboot - see if that helps - if not the post back. Dave :)
