The Nik collection is free now: http://gizmodo.com/google-just-made-150-of-great-photography-software-tot-1767001945
Grab it now before they change their minds.

Me too. Don't use this kind of stuff enough to justify the normal triple digit price but when they're free I'll give them a shot.

Since they stopped working on NIK, there will be no updates from here on in.

That download button you clicked on is just a .jpeg, which opens another pic.
You need to click on where it says "up for grabs" in the text. That will take you to the Google page where you can download it.
Or here: https://www.google.com/nikcollection/products/color-efex-pro/

By the way, in case no one noticed, the minimum requirements are CS4 or better for Photoshop.
No problem on my iMac but the PC is CS2. Bummer...

I just looked to see if it was done.... The column for size of file indicates about 1/4 thru.
Is it that big of a file or mayb I have run into a glitch.
should I try to download again?

I took classes and purchases Adobe Photoshop and premier elements. Have a bit,of knowledge about this type of editing but will. Have to see what options are on my Mac.
I don't have a huge drive and purchased extra ran so don't know for sure if I will have enough power.
Time will tell when i begin experimenting.

since this would be a new product for me and i may not get to it too soon...and it may disappear from site...is there a downloadable manual?

It's about 618mb in size. It's a .dmg file. There should be help in the plug-ins them selves.
Or at least a readme telling where to get help. (haven't installed yet)

For those of you who use Little Snitch: I got dialogs for Google Update this morning that wouldn't go away, no matter how many times I hit Deny, Forever.
Finally had to uninstall the daemons. Sigh, what do you expect for free huh?

The problem is that "Little Snitch" is no longer free = $36.90 for a license (version 3).

Never knew it was free. I've had my license for a while now.
I was talking about the Nik plug-ins. Didn't mean to confuse...
