How do I deprotect the music in iTunes, and import this into a iMovie project? - cannot find anything in "help" that helps

When was the music purchased? The copy protection may have already been removed. What happens when you try to import into iMovie? IIRC copy protected music could be used in iMovie assuming it was imported properly.

BTW what version of iMovie are you using?

Yes. It seems strange that I have music that I've bought from iTunes, that I'm not allowed to use in another Apple product.

Thx for your reply - the files could have been there for four or five years - no idea - in iMovie 10.1.1 -In iMovie - in the project with video footage - I choose audio - iTunes is highlighted, and below the comment " 32 files are protected and unavailable. ". That is why I ask how to deprotect them, so that they CAN be imported as background to the footage.

Thx for your reply - so you have the same problem. We should maybe ask the Apple genius bar what the problem is.
