Thanks Tracey, nice article. I especially liked your comments about the License Key as I have experienced the same thing before especially with long keys. ;)

Common formats for hard drives:

- Windows reads & writes to NTFS, and FAT32

- OS X reads and writes to FAT32 and Mac OS X extended (aka HFS+)

- OS X can read from, but not write to, NTFS (i.e. it is read only for the Mac)
enable write with:

MacDrive ($50) will allow Windows computers to read and write to drives that are formatted as HFS+:

as will MacDisk ($39):

A Mac can write to (as well as read from) a NTFS disk using:
