Every night my ip address changes. Which is very annoying because I sometimes host files from my mac or my two linux servers but every night all of there ip addresses change. I use DHCP and my netgear router is my DHCP server. Anyone know a way to prevent the ip change?

EDIT: I'm doing a test with DNS on my Mac right now.

Closer than you think.

Static IP's will certainly guarantee the same IP. Depending on your DHCP server you can serve IP's based on MAC address which can give you the same result as a static configuration.

Well setting the DNS server as my router worked on my mac. The ip hasn't changed, so I'll test it on the linux servers next.
