Can I stop Photos app from automatically importing images from SD card?

When I slot my camera's SD card into my Macbook Pro, the Photos app opens and any new images on the card are quickly transferred to Photos. I don't want that. I don't use Photos. I use Lightroom, and keep recent photos in separate folders on my HD, and reference them through the Lightroom catalog. Lightroom only imports images if I ask it to. Is there a way to stop Photos importing images automatically whenever I plug in my SD card?

Photos, preferences, General. Remove the check from the box that says: "Importing" - Copy items to the Photos Library.
